Citrus Heights Event: 2018 Student Connect

The 2018 Student Connect event will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Advent Lutheran Church from 10 AM to 3 PM. Citrus Heights HART and Carmichael HART, is hosting a free event for homeless and at-risk students ages K-12 in the San Juan School District and their families. In Citrus Heights there are approximately 800 students that lack permanent stable housing. The event will provide immediate assistance to those residing in Citrus Heights, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, and Orangevale. Students and their families will receive medical services, haircuts, housing counseling and referral services, hot lunch, free clothing and many other resources and services. Achieving these objectives requires a wide range of support, services and time from our volunteers, community, service providers and sponsors. Student Connect will bring services to one convenient location, easily accessible to students and families living in transition who may not have resources and transportation to access the same services which are located closer to Downtown Sacramento. This event will feature: • Meals – Children and families will receive a hot lunch provided by volunteers and sponsors, plus trip to the Sunrise Ministries on-site food bank. • Referrals & Resources – Guests will receive assistance with referrals for medical, vision, and mental health on site. • Housing, counseling, community/family resources, Cal-Fresh applications, and school enrollment. • Clothing, school supplies, personal hygiene supplies will be provided to each child and their family members, and more.
