Who: Milton Bowens, The Art Bra Show, Judy Evans and Claude Duplat When: September 14 – October 20, 2018 Reception: September 15, 5pm to 8:30pm Artists Talk: September 15, 5pm to 6pm Gallery hours: Wednesday-Saturday 11am – 5pm , Sunday 12-4pm Where: Blue Line Arts, 405 Vernon Street, Roseville, CA 95678 What: Milton Bowen “Hello 911 I’d Like To Report A Black Artist” is an uncompromising explorative, in-depth, contemporary fine art glimpse and artistic response to Americas’ historical truths, stereotypes and urban myths rooted in the historical statement “We The People” This collection of paintings is a visual diary for the viewer to be able to relate and get a real sense of what this current exhibition is about. You’ve got to experience it, see it, live it, in the history, in the context, in the honest and truthful moments captured in the work. This exhibition suggests that the first thing African Americans must do as a culture is to reignite our own minds and be free to tell our own truthful stories. The biggest obstacle for Black folks today in America is our forced conditioning to readily accept the American program. The fact is that America uses imagery, propaganda and media to condition our minds, past and present. The Art Bra Show This is a tribute art show for the Placer Breast Cancer Foundation to help bring funding and awareness to the organization. The show will feature works by many different artists and will showcase the bra as a symbol to bring awareness to the effects of breast cancer in women around the world. Judy Evans A native of Southern California, Ms. Evans studied at the University of Southern California and the California.
