Roseville Parks and Recreation: Operation Swim
Picking out a new swimsuit, jumping in the pool, swimming for hours on end…these are cherished memories many of us have of summers past. Unfortunately, many children in our community aren’t able to afford a swimsuit and the opportunity to take lessons is even less likely. To that end, and because learning the important skills of swimming and water safety can be lifesaving, Operation Swim was created.
The program’s goals are to:
1) Collect donations of new swimsuits and beach towels for children in need. Donations are currently being collected at all Roseville Parks and Recreation offices.
2) Provide swimming lessons to at least 150 children in need through monetary donations. For every $40 collected, a child receives a new swimsuit, beach towel, and swimming lessons.
Head to Big Spoon Yogurt at the Fountains on June 25, mention Operation Swim, and they’ll donate a percentage of proceeds to the cause.
To donate, visit roseville.ca.us/operationswim or call 916-772-PLAY and say you want to be a part of Operation Swim.
