Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
My passion for photography started in third grade when a school project required us to make a handmade box camera. As an older sibling and cousin, I used to have “photo shoots” with my younger family members and even the dogs – anyone who would sit still long enough. The anticipation of having my 35mm film developed was almost like waiting for Christmas morning. While life took me on another adventure with my husband and three kids, it came full circle on my 33rd birthday when my husband bought me my first SLR camera: a Canon Rebel XS. That Canon took me on a 365-day photo adventure, which rekindled my passion for photography. Capturing great photos feels like the easy part for me; the challenging part is the editing, color enhancements and sharpening which happens after the photo is taken. That challenge is what keeps me working hard to produce the best possible product for my clients.
What life accomplishments are you most proud of?
My children, my business, and most recently being voted “Best Photographer” in Placer Herald’s “Best of the Best.”
What’s your biggest job perk?
Being able to share and capture special moments with my clients.
What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?
Don Quixote for sure! Their chile verde reminds me of my dad and childhood.
What’s your favorite local event that you go to?
Celebrate America – we love the Fourth of July and our community.
What’s your favorite local business other than your own?
Icing on the Cupcake – they make my family (and me) happy.
And finally, customer service is…?
What keeps you in business; horrible customer service could break you.
