When Megan Boespflug first joined the Rotary Club of Roseville three years ago, not everyone took her seriously.
“They saw me as a young, energetic 24-year-old,” she admits. “Some members had been around for 40 or 50 years...I had to earn their respect.” A recent transplant to the area, Boespflug moved to Lincoln in 2008, when her husband was stationed at Beale Air Force Base. She immediately got involved in local charities as a way to put her marketing skills to good use while also making a difference in her community.
In addition to her duties as the business development manager at Air Systems in Sacramento, she also sits on the board of directors at Lighthouse Family Resource Center in Lincoln, an organization which helps provide counseling services and support for children and families in the area. She was also recently elected to serve as president of the Rotary Club of Roseville (beginning June 2013), making her the youngest president in the Club’s history. Boespflug can hardly wait for the opportunity to bring her positive attitude and youthful energy to the table. “I’m a go-getter,” she says. “When somebody says it can’t be done, I say it can be.”
