Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
I am a licensed psychologist with a private practice in Roseville. I specialize in individual, couples and family therapy for adolescents and adults. I have extensive experience with a full range of presenting concerns, including: anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, couples therapy, life adjustments, loss, etc. I have expertise in men’s issues, adolescent boy’s issues, chronic health issues, college student adjustment and issues related to religion/spirituality. My career definitely found me; I have known since I was in high school that this would be the field for me. I am so fortunate to be able to say that I love what I do for a living.
Where do you go when the going gets tough?
I try very hard to practice what I preach. I know my life feels completely different when I am exercising, focusing on getting a good night’s sleep and relying upon my family and friends for support.
What’s your biggest job perk?
Seeing positive changes happen in the lives of the people I work with. I have the luxury of being reminded on a daily basis of the strength and resiliency that people are capable of showing. I also learn a great deal from my clients, and as I provide insight and strategies that help someone, I am simultaneously reminded of what I, myself, can be doing in my life to improve.
What’s your favorite local business other than your own?
Bloom Coffee & Tea in Roseville. The crowd is something straight out of a Rolling Stone Magazine and their coffee is absolutely incredible.
And finally, customer service is…?
Literally, everything in my profession. My service IS customer service. With the time invested in therapy, my goal for every one of my clients is that they leave feeling more in-balance and more at peace, with significantly greater self-understanding. I can’t imagine a better quality of customer service.
