Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I am in private practice as a hypnotherapist. I got my Ph.D. in hypnotherapy, which has given me much greater knowledge than a person who took the “weekend beginners course.” As a medical hypnotherapist with a masters in counseling, I am fully equipped to help people overcome childhood trauma, divorce, disease, depression and much more. I use cognitive-behavioral hypnotherapy, massage, NLP, and other methods for helping people change. Because I know people are struggling financially, my prices are half from what they were five years ago; so, with my services you get a great deal. Hypnosis found me. I was a counselor and took a course in hypnotherapy; I loved how it worked because it seemed to help people in a deeper way and the treatments were shorter, which made it more practical and affordable for the clients. When I came to Roseville, I trained at a weight-loss clinic and became very experienced with helping people to lose weight.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I give pro bono service to military people and individuals who are broke or unemployed, especially for post-traumatic stress syndrome; in addition, I advertise and submit articles to Health & Fitness and Balanced Life magazines. I also volunteer at the Salvation Army and Unity Spiritual Center in San Juan. Lastly, I offer really affordable groups ($10) for empowerment, anxiety, and weight management, which help people relate to others struggling with similar issues.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Being a great single parent; and taking night course work for 20 years to become a therapist.

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

We love bowling, and riding the bike trails in Roseville.

And finally, customer service is…?

Treating the client with unconditional positive regard, and then helping them heal from whatever is holding him or her back from living a happy, peaceful life.
