Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
I first heard about the GameTruck franchise a year ago on a weekend technology radio show, The Kim Kommando Show. She is located in Phoenix, which is also the home of GameTruck. She had a GameTruck birthday party for her child and was very impressed. I researched the company for the next 10 months or so before I finally suggested my wife take a look. My years of business experience in technology seemed like a perfect fit.
How are you involved with both the community and your customer?
Our business opened on March 16, but I have been working with schools and community groups since the beginning of the year, helping them with fundraising programs and rewarding student involvement.
What life accomplishments are you most proud of?
I’ve worked in technology for over 30 years. I’ve watched computing change from refrigerator-sized monsters to today’s micro-sized devices. I’m proud to have been a part of these phenomenal changes in the computing industry.
Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?
My parents and in-laws were my biggest role models. I like to believe that I carry forward much of their dedication, work ethic and enthusiasm for life.
Where do you go when the going gets tough?
To my wife. For almost 40 years, she has been the person I go to when faced with challenges.
And finally, customer service is…?
Our strongest marketing tool is “word of mouth,” so our business depends on superior customer service. When we are working a birthday party, Mom is the most important person there. She determines what games the children can play and is dependent on our experienced “Game Coaches” to manage the party effectively, while keeping all 16 kids engaged and happy. Then, if we’ve done a good job, 15 kids go home and tell their moms, “That was great, I want that too!”
Do you know that our editorial is not paid for, nor can it be purchased? In fact, our Introducing and Dine reviews are not paid advertisements. If you’d like your business profiled, please email Wendy Sipple at email@example.com. Once we determine when your business will be featured, we will contact you to schedule a time to come out and take a photograph. Thank you!
