I love Asian food and I love noodles, so when I heard about Wayside Noodles, I knew I had to try it.
One night, a friend and I were hungry before a movie and decided to stop in. Luckily, this particular eatery is conveniently located under the Regal Cinemas, so stopping in was a no-brainer.
When we walked in, I knew the place was going to be laid-back with delicious food. Everything on the menu – from salads and sandwiches to soups and rice dishes – sounded amazing, it was hard to make a decision. After finally choosing the Dau Hu Rau Cai (soup with rice noodles and topped with tofu and mixed vegetables), we took a seat at a high-topped table by the window.
The tofu was served in hearty portions and soaked up just enough taste of the savory broth. The soup was mouth-watering and filling, and though I wanted to finish my helping, there was no way I could take down the extremely generous portion size. You definitely get a lot of tasty food for your money! Knowing what I know now, I recommend ordering more than one entrée, and then splitting them with your fellow diners. I already can’t wait to go back with friends and try the vegetarian egg and spring rolls!
As the first Vietnamese restaurant in El Dorado Hills, Wayside Noodles may have no competition, but even if they did, the fast, friendly service and delicious food would entice you to come back for more. Wayside Noodles is perfect for a casual dinner-and-the-movies date. And with the beautiful weather that June affords, take advantage of the outdoor seating for some people-watching and fresh air.
The next time you have a craving for Vietnamese food, stop by Wayside and get your noodle on!
