Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
I think neither, or maybe both. As long as I can remember I have been immersed in wine. Since the ‘70s my family served California Cabernet at the dinner table, and I always remember being enamored with the subject. Our goal at Coleman Nicole Wines is simply to produce some of the greatest wines (made the right way) that California has to offer. We take great care and pride in presenting small lot, artisan Pinot Noir from single vineyard sources.
What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?
I worked at Bob’s Roseville Car Wash when I was 15. I learned a great deal about customer service and how to navigate difficult, sometimes aggressive, customers. Bob was a stern boss, but he would get his hands dirty like the rest of us. He taught me the true value of an honest day’s work.
How are you involved with both the community and your customer?
We’ve done charity work for local non-profit agencies. The Gathering Inn and the Placer County Food Bank are two of my personal favorites.
Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?
I think Gary Vaynerchuk is playing the new business game just about as well as anyone these days, and I love to hear him speak on the digital social realms defining the new business model.
What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?
Paul Martin’s American Bistro. The pork ribs or the skirt steak are a must!
Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?
Golfland Sunsplash, Roller King and the local theatres.
What’s your favorite childhood memory?
Roseville Little League West.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Eddie Vedder – a HUGE Pinot Noir fan!
What’s your favorite local event that you go to?
We love the tree lighting ceremony in Roseville.

Communication and hard work.
