For JoAnn Funk, owner of Nice Twice Consignment Store, not too much has changed since she moved to Roseville in 1964.
“The heart of Roseville – the Downtown, Royer Park, the Tower Theater – is still here. I just love it!” she enthuses. In April of this year, Funk will celebrate her 32nd year as owner of Nice Twice, a store for re-sale of “gently used” clothing and accessories located off Vernon Street in the heart of Downtown Roseville. The struggling economy has been a boon to the consignment business, and Funk notes that, “more and more people want to consign their clothes rather than give them away. We get new customers every day.”
As a board member of the Downtown Roseville Merchants Association for over 25 years, Funk works hard to maintain the character and vitality of the downtown area. When she isn’t working, she spends time with her grandchildren or plays with her two Chihuahuas, Rosie and Ricky.
And Funk has no plans to move any time soon. “I’m in a really happy place in my life,” she says. “That small-town feeling still exists for me here. I’d never want to live anyplace else.”
