Bill Halldin’s interest in helping others and the community is readily apparent.
As an involved father and the owner of a local public relations firm, he strongly believes in supporting education and charitable causes, which is why he recently helped found the two-year-old Rocklin Educational Excellence Foundation and currently serves on the board.
“There are other local school foundations that are well-established, but Rocklin never seemed to get one,” says Halldin. “These foundations provide a great way for the community to help the schools do things they wouldn’t otherwise be able to do.” The Rocklin Foundation has their first big fundraiser event scheduled for the end of January 2011 at the Mercedes-Benz dealership.
Additionally, Halldin provides some pro bono work for the Sierra College Foundation, and works on projects for the Agape Restoration Center – an organization that provides rehabilitation, restoration and transitional living for girls rescued from sex trafficking in Cambodia.
As a Rocklin resident and Roseville business owner since 1999, Halldin offers some interesting insight into the community. “There are some places where you never feel like you fit in, but people here are very open to newcomers,” he says. “From a business perspective, there’s a ton happening in South Placer County. We’ve kind of grown up in the last 10 years and come into our own as a community. Also, philanthropically, it’s been interesting to see how much we’ve developed. There are a lot of things in our community now that you used to have to drive to Sacramento for.”
