Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

It found me. I was looking for a job after high school and was hired at a florist. My mom and grandma were wedding coordinators, so it didn’t take long for me to want to give designing a go (I was hired to take orders and wash buckets). I persisted and the owners relented…and the rest is history.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

Weddings are very personal, so it’s my job to reflect my bride and her style on her wedding day. I am able to really listen and read her to determine what that style is. In many ways I feel wedding planners and designers step into the role that aunts and grandmothers used to play. It can be a very nurturing experience.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

Service, service, service! We don’t just get the job done – we give our all and don’t leave the wedding set-up until it is amazing.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

My children are my greatest accomplishment; each one of them is amazing and unique with their own special gifts.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Tres Agaves. Great food, and margaritas to die for!

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

Hidden Falls to hike with the whole family.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

Any parade in Lincoln that goes down 5th street.

What’s your favorite local business other than your own?

Bloom Coffee & Tea! It’s the best coffee in the area and a lovely atmosphere to drink it in.

If you could be any other profession what would it have been?

A midwife! I have been to about a dozen births with friends; I would love to be the one who helps a new life come into the world.

And finally, customer service is…?

A lost art in our society! But essential, especially in the wedding industry. We are here to facilitate someone else’s dream. I feel it is critical that we know how to listen and then execute what we are being hired to do.
