With much anticipation, Sienna (formerly Masque Ristorante) recently opened their swanky doors for all to see…and more importantly, experience!
The unveiling includes a pretty extensive makeover of the interior with an expanded lounge and bar area complete with luxurious lighting, fixtures, seating and a floor-to-ceiling, glass-enclosed private dining area.
In a modern-meets-classic style, the dining room now boasts more comfortable seating amidst fireplace-lit ambiance and energetic staff service. Combined with an interior overhaul, Sienna’s menu reflects the tastes of California cuisine with an Asian flair, moderate prices, all making for a great night out or stop on the way home.
Seeking respite after a long day’s work, it was just the occasion when I stopped in to sample Sienna’s offerings. Browsing the menu, I immediately ordered their Cucumber Martini – and let me tell you, this is hands-down the best concoction on the block! If it weren’t for the fact that Sienna doesn’t allow sleepovers, I could have had three more.
Fresh and delicious, my libation fueled my appetite for snacks. And, being the ever-indecisive patron, I opted to try multiple items from their appetizer menu – including the Reconstructed California Roll (spicy miso Dungeness crab, avocado mousse, ginger soy syrup and wasabi aioli), and the Dungeness Crab Wontons with pineapple marmalade. The modernized version of the classic roll was light but full of flavor, and paired perfectly with my martini. And since I love crab so much, the wontons were icing on the cake with rich flavors from the cream cheese and crab enveloped in a salty-sweet, crunchy wrapper – pure bliss in my book.
I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by my whole Sienna experience and look forward to returning for dinner. I hear their ahi tuna is divine.
Sienna is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, and serves Sunday Brunch.
