Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
I bring the day spa to you. I treat you and up to 10 of your friends to one hour of top-notch, complimentary spa treatments in your home.
What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?
When I was 12, I served three daily meals to guests at a weekend retreat center and then cleaned the kitchen. I learned what hard work is and how rewarding it is to do a job well.
How are you involved with both the community and your customer?
My customers are the community. I hear about their kids, churches and neighborhoods...all the things a community talks about. I also set aside appointments each month for community fundraisers and donate a percentage of sales back to the respective organization.
What is the best thing about being the boss?
In BeautiControl, everyone is his or her own boss. I set my hours around my family’s schedule and get paid what I deserve.
What life accomplishments are you most proud of?
I’m proudest of my 3 beautiful children. And, the fact that this business has allowed me to stay home with them while still earning a paycheck is icing on the cake.
Where do you go when the going gets tough?
My faith, my husband and my mom.
What’s your hidden talent?
I love to quilt! It’s very fulfilling to bring together a collection of broken, mismatched pieces and create something beautiful and comforting.
What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?
Pho Saigon on Lone Tree Boulevard. Order the chicken noodle soup (#31); it’s filling, cheap and soooo yummy!
What’s your favorite childhood memory? Baking lemon meringue pie with my Nana.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I wish my dad were alive to hold his grandchildren and tell them stories.
And finally, customer service is…?
Treating my clients as friends. They can call, text, email, even Facebook me anytime. I’m accessible and love hearing from them.
