Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
Center For Balance offers private and semi-private personal training as well as group fitness, including Baby Boomer Fit Camps, yoga and outdoor excursions. Center For Balance is a reflection of our desire to help others realize a fuller life through physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle in a supportive personal and group environment. In that essence, it’s a combination of both.
What was your vision when you first started your business, and what is it now?
To help improve the lives of others by teaching people, no matter how late in life, how to stay fit and healthy while playing and having fun in all aspects of their lives. This is the same vision we have now!
What is the best part of doing business in this community?
This community embraces healthy lifestyles with its social networks, parks and recreation, and various community activities. It encourages personal growth and new experiences.
How are you involved with both the community and your customer?
We offer free educational and fitness workshops, including balance training for seniors. We also support various community events and fundraisers, such as Run Rocklin, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and MandaRun.
Why is your staff the best in the business?
We pride ourselves in education. We have both earned Bachelor of Science degrees; Christine’s in Kinesiology and Sue’s in Business Administration. We are both nationally certified trainers, and our focus is not just on showing people how to stay healthy, but why they need to do it. Education is the key to personal growth and good health!
What life accomplishments are you most proud of?
We are most proud of raising our children, finishing our higher education and now, creating our own company in the field we love.
Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?
Our parents helped instill our core values and showed us the importance of integrity, honesty and goodwill.
Where do you go when the going gets tough?
We look to our Higher Power and our strong network of family and friends.

Clients should never be treated as an interruption in work, but rather the entire purpose behind it! We strive to give each individual the best opportunity to reach his or her goals.
