Making friends in a new place can be difficult, especially when you’re an adult.
Having lived in the area for only a year, I have met so many wonderful people I now call friends. And for some reason, those friendships always seem to develop around food. That said, I instantly made a new friend when I professed my love for sushi at the Real Weddings Magazine spring photo shoot. My new gal pal and I decided to make a lunch date at Sushi Unlimited, for some delicious food and catching up, which in essence, was getting to know each other in the first place.
We ordered appetizers, the Fireballs – cream cheese crab salad topped with spicy tuna and shaped into little balls of zesty goodness. The cream cheese offset the spice and perfectly complemented the tuna flavor. We also enjoyed steamed edamame and miso soup. My food-loving companion ordered the Bobs Roll, which consisted of fried shrimp topped with crab salad, and I got the Intel Roll, spicy tuna and scallops topped with red tuna and a spicy sauce.
The rolls arrived quickly and our torched taste buds were never at a loss for refreshment, as our drinks were always filled. Both rolls were presented artfully fanned onto beautiful chilled dishes for our feasting pleasure. Conversation flowed as we shared our rolls and funny family stories and personal anecdotes. The dining experience was wonderful and the company even better. Sushi Unlimited is a great place for sushi devotees to gather and chat over a great meal. I’ll definitely return to enjoy more delicious Japanese fare with friends old and new! •
